We – the German LNG Terminal GmbH – are a team of 40 specialists who will carefully plan and build a terminal for the continuous and future-oriented import of energy in Brunsbüttel by the end of 2026. Initially, it will enable the reliable import of conventional liquid natural gas (LNG), then successively process “green” natural gas, and finally import the then state-of-the-art form of energy, probably hydrogen derivatives.
In addition to the company headquarters in Brunsbüttel, we have a planning office in Hamburg.
In spring 2022, German government decided to implement two major energy security and energy transition projects – one in Wilhelmshaven and ours in Brunsbüttel in close cooperation with the Dutch state-owned energy grid operator Gasunie and with the participation of RWE.
The shareholders and therefore initiators are Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) on behalf of the German Federal Government with a 50 % share, as well as Gasunie and RWE, which hold shares of 40 % and 10 % respectively. A memorandum of understanding was already signed in March 2022.
